Tyros
Tyros, situated on the east
coast of the Peloponese (mainland), is one of the most beautiful fishing villages of
Arkadia. In ancient Greece Tyros was the place of the worship of Apollo Tyritis, the
guardian of the production of milk amd cheese(in Greek:tyri=cheese). Tyros offers many
advantages to tourists, in addition to the blue sea; pubs, bars and clubs provide
entertainment for the younger generation, while the rural surroundings offer peace and
relaxation. Nearby there is the gulf of Sabatiki with clean waters
and lovely natural surroundings. Also nice beaches are those of
Tyrosapounakeika and of Livadi. Near Tyros the Monastery
of Virgin Mary Karyas is located.
